The hugely popular and free-to-enter Mini Mile returns to the Brighton Marathon Weekend this year on Saturday 1 April with entries opening today [Wednesday 15 February].
The Mini Mile is the traditional curtain-raiser of the Brighton Marathon Weekend and offers children the chance to be part of the action by running, jogging or walking the one-mile course in Preston Park.
Entry is free and open to children currently in school years 3 to 12, with all finishers receiving a medal and digital finisher’s certificate. The entire mile course is fenced off from the rest of Preston Park. For more information and to enter, click here.
The Mini Mile, first held in 2010, takes place the day before the BM10K and the Brighton Marathon. The Brighton Marathon Weekend is being delivered by London Marathon Events (LME) for the first time this year after LME took over the ownership of the event last December.
Hugh Brasher, Event Director of London Marathon Events and the Brighton Marathon Weekend, said: “Our aim is to inspire activity in all ages and abilities and the Mini Mile is a wonderful opportunity for children and young people to be part of the famous Brighton Marathon Weekend. Entries for the Brighton Marathon and BM10K are still open. Entry is £69.99 for the Brighton Marathon and £35 for the BM10K.
