For the first time, all of this year’s Brighton Marathon Weekend runners will collect their race packs from the brand new Event Village on Brighton beach.
The Event Village will be open for the whole of Brighton Marathon Weekend (Friday 7th – Sunday 9th April) and will welcome all the Cancer Research UK Kids and Teens Mini Mile entrants as well as those for the BM10K and Brighton Marathon as they collect their race packs – getting an exciting first glimpse of the BM10k and Brighton Marathon finish line to inspire them!
The new Event Village will be situated beside Madeira Drive where more than 100,000 people (based on previous years) will visit over the weekend creating a beach based wow-factor like no other race can. This is the first time ever that Brighton Marathon Weekend has created a three day village for its participants and their supporters in one central, buzzing location.
The Event Village will also feature a preparation and recovery area (2XU Recovery Zone) where runners can chat with training experts, get a massage and visit the shops featuring the very latest in running products.
On Sunday 9th, anyone who wants to support the amazing runners can come down and soak up the atmosphere, watch all the live action across the big screens, grab a bite to eat and pull up a deckchair! Street food outlets and bars will be open throughout the weekend making the Event Village a destination in its own right.
Tom Naylor, Managing Director of Grounded Events said: “Moving the Brighton Marathon Weekend Exhibition to become part of The Event Village on the beach at Madeira Drive creates the perfect place to come and be inspired before your race and to celebrate with friends and family afterwards. The whole weekend will be a hive of activity for our participants and their supporters. We can’t wait to welcome them to the 2017 Brighton Marathon Weekend there.”
In addition, the vibrant Charity Village will be open for business on Sunday 9th with over 40 charities meeting and congratulating their incredible runners when they finish the BM10K and Brighton Marathon.
An Event Village map will be available on the Brighton Marathon Weekend in coming weeks.
