I had an entry for the Mini Mile Races 2020, what happens now?

We are working to see what our options are regarding staging a youth event in Autumn as part of the revised Brighton Marathon Weekend event. We will be in contact soon with further information regarding this. You are not able to defer your Mini Mile entry to the 2021 Brighton Marathon Weekend. However, we will give you first opportunity to sign up for 2021 when entries open.

I had a charity entry for a Brighton Marathon Weekend 2020 event, what are my options now?

Please contact your charity directly for assistance, as they manage their places independently.

If I take part in Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit, do I lose my free deferral option to 2021?

Participants must choose between a range of options, including their free deferral to 2021 or taking part in Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit. Brighton Marathon Participants will be given the opportunity to enter 2021 at our lowest entry rate of £40. Participants will be contacted on the 1st September.

What happens if Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit cannot take place?

If Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit cannot take place in October due to any COVID-19 enforcements such as a local lockdown, the remaining options (full virtual, free deferral to 2021/2022, a full refund) will be made available to you.

Can I transfer my Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit place to someone else?

We are not offering transfers for Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit.

Can I do the virtual element of the Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit in stages?

Yes! You have the option to complete the virtual 20 miles as 4 x 5 mile runs, 2 x 10 mile runs or 1 x 20 mile run!

Can I do the full virtual Brighton Marathon in stages?

Yes! You have the option to complete the event as;

  • 1 x 26.2 miles
  • 1 x 20 miles + 1 x 6.2 miles
  • 2 x 10 miles + 1 x 6.2 miles
  • 4 x 5 miles + 1 x 6.2 miles

Can I transfer from the BM10K to Brighton Marathon | The Edit?

No, Unfortunately you cannot upgrade to a Marathon place.

Can I cycle the BM10K | The Edit?

No. Unfortunately, the BM10K | The Edit is a running event. However, you are welcome to transfer to this event if this interests you.

Can I complete the BM Ride virtually?

No. Unfortunately we are not offering the opportunity to complete the BM Ride virtually.

Can I complete the BM10k virtually?

Yes! When you are invited to select your option, you will need to select 'Fully Virtual'.

Can I complete the Brighton Marathon fully virtually?

Yes! When you are invited to select your option, you will need to select 'Fully Virtual'.

Can I defer my place?

Yes! You are able to defer your place to either 2021 or 2022.

Can I transfer my deferral to someone else?

Yes! When you receive your unique deferral promo code, you are able to give your 2021 or 2022 deferral code to someone else.

Can I get a refund?

Yes! You are able to get a refund of your entry fee. Please note that you need to have logged your refund request by 10pm on 30th August 2020.

When will I receive my refund?

Refunds will be processed from the week commencing 26th October 2020.

I've already deferred to 2021, can I change my mind?

No. If you requested a deferral back in March, and have since received your free deferral to 2021, you are unable to change this.

I've already deferred my place to 2021 and paid for the registration. Can I get a refund?

Yes! Anyone who deferred their place to 2021 and paid £40 for the registration will be given a full refund. Your place will still be active for the 2021 event.

I have logged my choice, what happens now?

If you selected to take part in Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit or to complete your distance fully virtually, then you will receive an email on the 1st September with further instructions to complete your registration.
If you selected a deferral to 2021 you will also be contacted in September, if you selected a deferral to 2022 you will be contacted by January 2021. You will be sent further instructions to complete your sign up for your chosen year.
If you selected to receive a refund, this will be processed from the 26th October. You will receive a refund confirmation email from Race Roster when this has been processed.

I've missed the 10 day option window, what happens now?

If you missed the option window, you are still able to defer your place to either 2021 or 2022. Please email here to arrange this.

What happens to my iTab?

Your iTab will be treated in the same way as your option. If you choose a refund, your iTab will be refunded. If you choose a free deferral, your iTab will be deferred to your chosen year. If you choose to take part, it will be transferred across to Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit.

I did a run back in April, does that count?

Independent runs completed before the 30th September 2020 do not count towards the Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit event. The virtual aspect must be completed between 30th September and your allocated start time on the 11th October.

I had an entry for the 2020 BM Ride - is it cancelled?

We are sorry to confirm that the BM Ride has been cancelled for 2020 and a cycling event will not be included as part of Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit.

What happens if I want to defer but am a Member?

Members can defer their 2020 entry to 2021, this will result in their Membership being extended by one year.

Can I use my Membership FAF codes for The Edit?

No. All Membership codes are valid from 2021.

Can I defer my Mini Mile place to 2021?

Mini Mile places are non-deferrable.

What happens to my 2020 Park & Ride place?

Your Park & Ride place will be treated in the same way as your entry. If you choose to receive a refund on your entry fee, you will also receive a refund on your Park & Ride. If you choose to defer your place to 2021/2022, then your Park & Ride place will also be deferred. If you choose to take part in Brighton Marathon Weekend | The Edit, then we will contact you in the coming weeks regarding your Park and Ride options.

When will the Mobile App be ready to download / use?

The mobile app will be updated with the virtual run information and distance categories by mid-September. Full Virtual Instructions will be sent to all participants and you can find out more here.

How long do I have to log my option?

All options need to have been selected by 10pm on 30th August 2020.

I have run every Brighton Marathon event, how will this be effected by the 2020 event alteration?

To keep your Brighton Marathon streak going, you will need to complete either the Full Virtual or Brighton Marathon | The Edit in 2020. Either will count towards 2020, but we would love to see you at The Edit, so we can hand you your medal!
