Baggage Care Team

We require a strong and energetic team to support us with participant baggage. Participants drop off a kit bag at the start of the Brighton Marathon and BM10k (Preston Park). The bags are then transported on a series of vehicles to the Finish Area where they are to be sorted, ready for runners to collect once they cross the finish line. As well as reuniting runners with their bags, we need a helpful, friendly team to support the runners and congratulate them on their running achievements.

Call Centre

The Brighton Marathon Weekend Call Centre is a central information hub to which all race queries filter through to. Based at Event HQ, the Call Centre is central to the course and is positioned in amongst the Brighton Marathon Weekend race offices. We looking for volunteers to join our team who have good communication, customer services skills and basic computer skills are a bonus.

Course Marshals

The Brighton Marathon, BM10k and the BM Ride route is divided in to a number of Zones and we are looking for a team of volunteers to join each Zone’s Event Team to assist with marshalling the route. As well keeping your area safe, we are looking for a team to support and cheer our riders and runners through their journey. Whilst a long day (some longer than others, depending on where you select), we promise an inspiring and exciting day!

Event Village

We are looking for a team of volunteers to help in the Event Village. The Event Village will be the hub of the weekend for runners, their guests and visitors to enjoy, jam packed with opportunities things to do see and buy. We require a team of volunteers to join us each day to help with wayfinding, providing event information and assisting with race pack collection. On Event Day you may also be asked to support runners once they have crossed the finish line; handing out goody bags, foils and medals!

Finish Area (BM10k and Marathon)

We require an enthusiastic team to assist us both pre-event set-up and on event day in the Finish with a variety of jobs. For event day, we require teams to hand out medals, goody bags, T shirts and baggage as well as assisting with the management of  crowds This is the biggest team on event day requiring the longest shift from volunteers but the reward is plain to see, being part of the team that welcomes the runners across the finish line after their challenge. Please note – working in the finish area does not automatically mean you will be handing out finisher’s medals.

Mini Mile

We are looking for an enthusiastic team to support the Cancer Research UK Kids & Teens Mini Mile Races. Over 2,500 children between the ages of 7 and 17 will take part in the one-mile race at Preston Park the day before the 2019 Brighton Marathon. The day is not just about the races but also about the friends and family enjoying a fantastic day out with lots of activities in the Mini Mile Village. We will require teams to assist with the day’s event; from marshalling to race pack collection, presentations, repatriation, etc.

Race Pack Collection

We require a strong team to assist with the Race Pack Collection as well as meeting and greeting our runners as they arrive at the Event Village.

We are looking for a team of volunteers to join us at the Brighton Marathon and BM10K Mass Start. Although this role has an early start, it promises to be one of the most exciting areas in which you can support the Brighton Marathon Weekend. We require volunteers to help wayfinding, marshalling, and support with the baggage, as well as helping nervous runners through preparation to the start line.

In this role but you will be able to enjoy the buzz and excitement of seeing 15,000 runners start their journey to the finish line on Madeira Drive. You then have the rest of the day to show your support in another section of the course!

BM Ride Velo Village, Start and Finish Team

New for this year, The BM Ride, a 50KM course which will take place on the same day as the marathon and 10k event and incorporates a lot of the same route. We are looking for a strong energetic team to support with the Start / Finish of the event as well as support in key areas of the Velo Village. It is here that riders will check-in, seek advice and information whilst soaking up the atmosphere, enjoying the local concession offerings, partners and entertainment
