The Brighton Marathon will take place on Sunday 20th September 2020 starting at 9:45am in Preston Park.
No, the entrant fee goes towards the cost of putting on the event. We do however work closely with local, national and international charities in helping them to raise millions of pounds for their causes. Each year, around 300 charities benefitted from an association with the event.
The minimum age for marathon participants is 18 on race day, and participants for the BM10k must be 17 on race day – We cannot make any exceptions to this.
The simple answer is No. Your chosen charity may have used this entry for another runner so you need to liaise with them directly. Most likely is that you will need to re-apply for a place with the charity of your choice.
In light of the postponement of the 2020 Brighton Marathon Weekend, we are offering you the opportunity to request a full refund.
However, if you could possibly still take on the challenge, we ask you to reconsider. Your decision to take part in September will make a huge difference to the future existence of the event. We would also love for you to continue fundraising or to join a charity team if you haven’t already, to help support our charities during this period of uncertainty and change.

The deadline for accommodating requests of this nature for the Brighton Marathon is 1th July 2019. Transfers after that date are not possible; you will need to defer your place if you are unable to run.
You are able to transfer a BM10k entry to another runner up until the 29th November 2019. After that date you will be unable to transfer your place to someone else. Please note you are unable to defer a BM10k place.
It is against race rules to transfer your number to another person. If you are found to gift or sell your place to another runner your entry will be deleted and you will not be allowed to enter Brighton Marathon in the future.
If you are no longer able to complete the full distance of the Marathon but would still like to be involved in the Weekend, you can transfer your entry to the BM10k.
To arrange this please email us and let us know that you would like to do this. The deadline for any requests of this nature will be 5pm on the 23rd August 2020.
You will still be able to defer your Marathon entry to the following year, but you must also complete the deferral request form; transferring your entry to the BM10k does not automatically defer your marathon entry to the following year.
You will need to contact your charity directly to discuss cancellations along with terms and conditions involved.
You will have received their contact information when you registered with them.
You can change most of your personal details on your account by accessing your account via: https://raceroster.com. Once logged in, please select the drop down in the top right corner, and then ‘Participant Dashboard’, from here you can update your details.
In order to change details on your existing registration, you will need to email us in order to request this change.
You will be able to choose your starting race corral when you collect your Race Pack. This will give you the chance to choose your start time according to the time you think you will take once you have completed your training. It will also allow you to start with your friends or training partners. You can find out more here.
You can, however, contact the team and request that this information be updated on your registration for you.
You will hear from us mid-March 2020.

I registered my interest in being considered for selection to run for England at Masters age group level. What happens now?
Your information will be sent through to England Athletics regarding you interest in this opportunity, and they will be in touch with you to confirm the necessary details and how to register with them.
Send Race Roster an email and request that we send you another copy of your confirmation email.
Alternatively, you can wait until Monday 7th September 2020, when we will be re-sending everyone their confirmation email.
