Start and Finish Locations
The Brighton Marathon and BM10k start in Preston Park. You can see the location of Preston Park here on Google Maps.
The finish is situated on Madeira Drive, with a huge Event Village for runners and spectators to enjoy. This is situated here. Parking will not be available in the immediate vicinity due to road closures so we advise any spectators going straight to the finish to walk from Brighton Station or park outside of the road closures and walk in. Spectator walking routes and crossing points will be available in the Event Programme and on the website closer to the event.
Parking / Park & Ride
Runners and spectators can make use of our Park and Ride service on Race Day, which will offer shuttle buses to the Start and from the Finish.
We strongly advise against travelling into the city centre on the morning of the event as there will be road closures in place and parking restrictions.
We thoroughly recommend using the Park & Ride service, to avoid any potential issues with getting to the start on time.
However, there are also a number of car parks accessible early on race morning, a full list of which can be found here. Please bear in mind access and egress to these during road closures.
NB. Booking for Park and Ride will open early 2018.
Buses / Coach
Bus services will be subject to diversion on Race Sunday, so please do continue to check the Brighton & Hove Bus Company website for the most up to date travel information and full timetables.
Zip Travel are offering special coach transfers from central London on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th April. To find out more, please click here.
London Gatwick is the closest airport and is 30 minutes away by train (trains run direct from the airport to Brighton mainline station) or 35-40 minutes by car.
If you are staying in or near Brighton taxis WILL be able to collect you and drop you close by to the Start area on Race morning. There will be road closures in place but routes are still possible across the city avoiding these closures and/or ahead of them being actioned.
You can find a list of approved taxi firms and further public transport available and full information via the Brighton & Hove City Council web site.
If you are cycling to the event on Race Day, there are bike stands by the café in the centre of Preston Park where you will be able to lock your bike up. There is also a bike storage system at Brighton Station called (n+1) which has storage for over 500 cycles. You will need a key card from Southern Railway to use this – more info is available here: http://www.nplusone.bike/cycles#storage
There is also a list of bicycle parking available on the Brighton & Hove City Council website here.
There will be a number of road closures in place on Race Day.
An updated map will be available here in early 2018.
