The event takes place on Sunday 15 April 2018, starting at 9.15am in Preston Park. For directions and travel advice, please click here.

Participant Instructions

Your 2018 Participant Instructions are your essential guide to the event as a participant and will provide you with all of the important information you need including details of:

  • race pack collection
  • baggage procedure
  • the course
  • the Event Village
  • medical advice

  • and lots more…

These will be emailed directly to you in the weeks preceding the event and made available to read here on the website. Please read them and familiarise yourself with them.

Confirmation Email

When you signed up you received a confirmation email containing a QR code, confirming your place. Please keep this safe and file it, as you will need it to collect your Race Pack. It will also be re-sent on 3rd April 2018 – this will be from ‘Grounded Events Company’.

If you prefer, you will also be able to access this QR code by signing in on the Mobile App. The 2018 app will be updated in March 2018 with all runner information.

If you need to change your details on your entry, please log back in here with the email and password you used to sign up and amend as necessary: myevents.active.com 

Race Pack Collection

All participants in the Brighton Marathon must collect their Race Packs from the Event Village on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 April 2018.

Start Corrals

You will be able to select your start corral when you collect your race pack.
We have five colour coded corrals available and you should choose the corral you start from based upon your predicted finishing time once you have finished your training.
Full information will be available in your Participant Instructions about the corral times, colours and what time they open on Race Day.

The Course

The 2018 course map and amenities available on course such as fluid stations, toilets, etc. will be available to view here soon. Water will be available in cups across the course – find out more in our FAQS.

Runner Emails

Starting in September, we send all participants regular e-newsletters. These contain helpful training advice articles as well as event updates on a range of topics including essential information such as Participant Instructions, maps, event status, travel, park & ride and medical information. We advise that all participants receive these but you can opt out from them if you wish. If you do opt out and decide you would like to opt back in, please email office@brightonmarathon.co.uk

Travel

Please make sure you plan your travel well in advance for stress-free experience and so that you are ready for Race Day.

If you need accommodation for the 2018 Brighton Marathon Weekend, we recommend you book in advance to secure a room at the best rates as the city gets very busy over event weekend.

Mobile App

The 2018 mobile app will be released in March 2018. This will provide users with an interactive course map for tracking runners on the course, spectator information, results, the Participant Guide, FAQs and more. Please note that your runner number will not be added until you have collected your Race Pack from the Event Village.

Medical Advice

Your safety and wellbeing is of the utmost importance to us.

No matter your experience or ability, please take time to read our medical advice before you begin your training. It’s important to not only assess your physical ability, but to find out more about energy supplements, fluids, fuel and whether any medications may have an impact on your training.

We want to get you to the finish line safely and sensibly.
