Race Day

The 2018 BM10k will take place on Sunday 15 April at 8.30am in Preston Park, Brighton.

Participant Instructions

Your 2018 Participant Instructions are your essential guide to the event as a participant and will provide you with all of the important information you need including details of race pack collection, baggage procedure, the course, the Event Village, medical advice and more.

These will be emailed directly to you in the weeks preceding the event and made available to read here on the website. Please read them and familiarise yourself with them.

Confirmation Email

When you sign up you will receive a confirmation email, confirming your place. Please keep this safe and file it, as you will need it to collect your Race Pack. It will also be re-sent in the weeks preceding the event – this will be from ‘Grounded Events Company’.

If you need to change your details on your entry, please log back in here with the email and password you used to sign up and amend as necessary: myevents.active.com 

Race Pack Collection

All participants must collect their Race Packs from the Event Village on Friday 13 and Saturday 14 April 2018.

Your Race Pack will contain:

  • Your paper Race Number
  • Timing Chip for your shoe with ties
  • Kit Bag and label

Full details of your kit bag, timing chip and baggage process will be detailed in the Participant Instructions

What you need to collect your pack

  1. Your confirmation email – Please either bring a printed copy or save it to your iPhone / smartphone to show our staff
  2. A photo ID (such as a passport or drivers licence)
 If you have do not have a photo ID, please bring with you 2 x proofs of address dated within three months e.g. a utility bill or bank statement.

If you can’t collect your Race Pack

If you are unable to collect your pack, you will need to fill in a waiver form for someone to do so. This will be available to download soon.

The person you have nominated to collect your pack will need:

  • The participant’s confirmation email (this is the email that includes a QR code)
  • Written authorisation for the collector to collect the pack, signed by the runner
  • A colour copy or original of the runner’s photo ID and a note of the runner’s postal address
  • That person must also present his/her own photo ID

Start Corrals

You will be able to select your start corral when you collect your race pack.
We have two colour coded corrals available and you should choose the corral you start from based upon your predicted finishing time.
Your finishing time is worked out based on your chip time – and your chip time starts when you cross the start line, and not when the first runners start.
Full information will be available in your Participant Instructions about the corral times, colours and what time they open on Race Day.

Course Maps

The 2018 maps will be available to view online soon. Please check back ahead of the dates.

Participant E-Newsletters

Starting in September, we will send all participants regular e-newsletters. These will contain helpful training advice articles as well as event updates on a range of topics including essential information such as Participant Instructions, maps, event status, travel, park & ride and medical information. We advise that all participants receive these but you can opt out from them if you wish. If you do opt out and decide you would like to opt back in, please email office@brightonmarathon.co.uk

Please make sure you plan your travel well in advance for stress-free experience and so that you are ready for Race Day
