When will the 2018 Brighton Marathon take place?

The 2018 Brighton Marathon will take place on Sunday 15th April 2018.

How do I enter the Brighton Marathon? How much does it cost?

General entries open on Sunday 9 April 2017, and will be available to purchase through the website and on our mobile app.

Entries will be limited to 11,000, with the first 5,500 priced at £55.50, and the remaining 5,500 priced at £65.50

Charity Entries must be secured directly through the charity. Please see our charity listings page to find out which charities have places with us.

You can still raise money for charity if you have a general entry.

Does any of the entrant fee go to charity?

No, the entrant fee goes towards the cost of putting on the race.  We do however work closely with local, national and international charities in helping them to raise millions of pounds for their causes. For our 2017 race, around 300 charities benefitted from an association with the event.

What is the minimum age for marathon and 10k participants?

The minimum age for marathon and 10k participants is 18 on race day – We cannot make any exceptions to this.

Last year I had a charity place but could not run. Will you still have my place?

The simple answer is No. Your chosen charity may have used this entry for another runner so you need to liaise with them directly. Most likely is that you will need to re-apply for a place with the charity of your choice.

I can no longer take part can I receive a refund?

Refunds are administered up until 1st June 2017.  After this date NO REFUNDS will be available, only deferrals.

If you have purchased Booking Protect through ACTIVE Network when you completed your registration, you will need to liaise directly with Booking Protect. This is not operated by the Brighton Marathon Weekend team.

Can I transfer my number to someone else?

The deadline for accommodating requests of this nature is 1st June 2017. Transfers after that date are not possible; you will need to defer your place if you are unable to run.

It is against race rules to transfer your number to another person.  If you are found to gift or sell your place to another runner your entry will be deleted and you will not be allowed to enter Brighton Marathon in the future.

Am I able to transfer my marathon entry to the BM10k?

If you are no longer able to complete the full distance of the Marathon but would still like to be involved in the weekend, you can transfer your entry to the BM10k.

To arrange this please head to the contact page and let us know that you would like to do this. The deadline for any requests of this nature will be 5pm on the 23rd March 2018.

You will still be able to defer your marathon entry to the following year.
